A Message from our President:

It is with great excitement that I introduce you to South Atlantic Bible College and Seminary. I suppose to some extent you could call South Atlantic "my baby." My dear friend Jerry Haas and I developed the idea for the school in 1994, and I have helped nurse it through its infant and toddler stages. That task became much more difficult in 1996 with the loss of Dr. Haas in a tragic automobile accident. He had shouldered the administrative burden for the school, while I devoted myself to curriculum developement. To a great extent Jerry Haas was South Atlantic. I assisted him, and there was a Board of Directors, but Jerry was the point man for the school. When I agreed to become president, it was in order that the dream might continue. In 2005 we entered into agreement with Abney Baptist Bible Institute in Kershaw, SC, a school I head as pastor of Abney Baptist Church, to use their facilities and share curriculum. This agreement benifits both institutions, as South Atlantic has a permanent home, and Abney Baptist Bible Institute Students receive college credit for their work on campus.

When South Atlantic began it was envisioned to be an alternative means of education for ministers who desired to continue their training, but who could not leave their church fields or jobs to attend traditional classes. While we were very much aware that there were many external degree programs available, we felt that the vast majority fell into one of two catagories. They were either "diploma mills" that only sought to make money and not provide education, or they were priced out of range for the students that most needed them. Our desire was to provide a quality education at the least possible cost. I believe that we have done that since day one; however, I believe that our prgrams are better today than ever before. It is true that our cost in substancially higher now than when we began, but it is still much lower than comparable schools.

We have a small faculty that view their work with us as a minsitry, most receive no salary, only having their expenses reimbursed. Each has done external degree work themselves, and thus fully understand what the students face. Each has years of experience in their field, and a proven record of accomplishment.

We are well aware that South Atlantic isn't for everyone, as a matter of fact, it is only on rare occasions that we accept students younger than twenty-five years of age; we encourage those students to receive their education through traditional means. Yet we do believe that we provide a quality external degree and evening class program for experienced ministers who have some missing links in their educational history.

Contact us. Read our catalog. Call us with any questions. If we are what you are looking for we would be glad to have you as a part of the South Atlantic family.

Yours in HIS Service,

Dr. William Todd Morris,

President
